Sealants

A sealant is a coating that is applied to the back teeth and acts as a protector against acid from food particles and decay. It’s easy for kids to miss their back teeth when brushing, so a sealant acts as the last line of defense after brushing and flossing. This is a great tool to help prevent cavities in children, but it’s important to remember that sealants are not a replacement for their daily oral healthcare routines, but instead a supplement.
