Laser Frenectomy

Home » Pediatric Dentistry » Laser Frenectomy

A laser frenectomy may be necessary if your child has a lip-tie or a tongue-tie. These conditions develop when the frenulum, which acts as a connector, is formed too close to the end of the tongue and restricts its movement. This could cause issues such as difficulty eating, speaking, sleeping, and more.

A laser frenectomy would remove that extra tissue in the frenulum that is causing the lip or tongue-tie. Our use of a soft-tissue laser helps ease the child’s discomfort and removes the need for a cut to be made to the frenum by hand.
